Here I think we drift into issues beyond languages. Large commercial sites need large staffs. Large numbers of imaginative, educated and discriminating developers are not available. Cost a lot. And look at management like pond scum. Java/PHP developers litter the earth. Are relatively cheap. Respect management. And managers can think their 6 mo college programming course puts them ahead of their staff. And the sites are "good enough". .... Ken
