I'd like to express my support a good vim howto / FAQ, particularly one
that is focused on OpenBSD. Have you considered setting up this writing
effort through something like a wiki? Then people would be able to
contribute tips, fixes, feedback, translations, etc with almost no
organizational overhead.

I think a lot of people use vim for the same reason they use OpenBSD:
minimalism, power, textual orientation, and relative licensing freedom.
(My search for another good copyFREE-ish code editor came up short - see
http://tinyurl.com/vimalt) I am particularly interested in PHP-related
features and add-ons.

The OpenBSD vim port could use some improvements as well, like enabling
the perl interpreter (since we're stuck with it installed by default) as
well as "flavors" for python, etc. It could also use cooler defaults,
like "set nocompatible", "syntax enable", "set backspace=2", and maybe
"set number". Also, how long before 7.3 makes it into -stable ports?
