hi there, please forgive my ignorance. today i have stumbled upon the following error while trying to compile and install a certain package, a deed i very rarely do:
Error: Libraries in packing-lists in the ports tree and libraries from installed packages don't match this is something a bit more recentish, because i remember doing the same thing in the past and there was no such level of strictness. i think i understand the need to have exact library info at compile time and enforce it like this, but i also always looked at the ports infrastructure as a very nifty flexible compiling aid -- is it really an "error" when i want to compile for example a particular daemon and link it against my current libraries in /usr/local/lib, libs that might lag a couple of versions behind cvs but still perfectly fulfill their requirement? is it possible to override this? is it totally undesirable? -f -- light at end of tunnel will be out until further notice.
