Actually, mplayer allows you to specify a comma-separated list of video output drivers that will be tried one after the other, e.g. $ mplayer -vo xv,x11 foo.mp4 So "xv,x11" would be a sensible default setting for gnome-mplayer. -- Christian "naddy" Weisgerber na...@mips.inka.de
