Some of the patches can be removed, CONFIGURE_ARGS options removed and I resorted the WANTLIBS. I also updated the DESCR as the feature set has changed a bit since the initial revision of DESCR. This update could also expose bugs with other DDX drivers but especially the Intel driver.
