Hmmm, I'm not sure that's justified: you surely have more experience
than I have, as a porter.

I've tested this on an old (Feb. 8) vax snapshot and simh:

Except for what appears to be a minor nit (src/history.c:68), it packages
and installs fine.  I'd even add --without-xft as Xft is said to be slow
(don't get me wrong, everything seems to be slow on vax) and makes the
stripped executable go from 1020k to 1.6M.  Xinerama seems to be almost
free, perhaps do we have support for dual-head Vaxen?
