Snapshots made close to the cut date would be as close as you get to a 'preview'. The actual cut date is never announced, but the relatively long period with no new snapshots and various cvs commit messages seem to indicate that if you grab a snapshot today (files dated July 22 and july 30), you get something that's fairly close to 5.4-release. - P -- Peter N.
