I'm using OpenBSD on a dedicated machine for a wallboard calendar display, - I knew there was a standalone version of the mozilla calendar but forgot what it was called, so I just installed Thunderbird for this and it's working perfectly well. I don't think there's any particular reason to continue with a semi-maintained standalone port and if it's getting in your way, go ahead and zap. Fennec might be interesting on lower-powered machines but only if it's reasonably up to date - Java is only really working properly on OpenBSD amd64 at the moment, and there's no real need for Fennec there, so probably not useful to keep.
