But I'm not sure wether it's *exactly* the same document (and I
can't find the old one on my disks).

I tested today with an unpatched version of xpdf-3.03, and it did
*not* crash. But one bug happened back in 2009 (xpdf-3.02pl3) and
was fixed by this commit:
