That's a pity because ffmpeg is a heavy dependency. That said, if you are already switching to ffmpeg, can you then drop some of mpd's other dependencies? ffmpeg should also be able to decode MP3, Vorbis, FLAC, and Opus, so it seems silly to bother with separate plugins for these.
