After more looking at the port, and receiving an explicit okay for the corresponding action from aja@, I choose to go the tedu way. At least because license marker in the Makefile is a lie, beacuse this software imposes additional restrictions on how it could be used, and that makes it non-GPL: "The set of programs and documentation known as "lmbench" are distributed under the Free Software Foundation's General Public License with the following additional restriction (which overrides any conflicting restriction in the GPL): You may not distribute results in any public forum, in any publication, or in any other way if you have modified the benchmarks. If you have modifications or enhancements that you wish included in future versions, please mail those to me, Larry McVoy, at [email protected]." kirby@ suggested to look for updating port to a more recent version, but those do contain even more restrictions: you can't sell benchmark results, even by publishing on a web site with ads. IMHO that's no way. So I'm sending this port back to ground, and hoping that zombie apocalypsis won't happen soon. -- WBR, Vadim Zhukov
