I tried Big Buck Bunny in mp4 format, which has AC3 audio (http://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/big_buck_bunny_480p_surround-fix.avi). Using the same command it doesn't hang a single time, so maybe the input aac is the problem? Although Marcus' test seems to suggest the other way around. Frank
