Attached is net/bitlbee-steam (https://github.com/bitlbee/bitlbee-steam). It is another bitlbee plugin (https://wiki.bitlbee.org/).
Uncomment in `/etc/bitlbee/bitlbee.conf', if you want to run bitlbee locally: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- DaemonInterface = 0.0.0.0 DaemonPort = 6667 --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- setup in irssi: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- /connect localhost /join &bitlbee ac add steam [email protected] /OPER <ret> password <ret> ac steam on --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- You may have to confirm with steam guard. I have been successfully using this for several months. I was having issues from my VPS to Steam's servers, causing frequent disconnections, but once I ran bitlbee-steam elsewhere, it ran reliably. This was probably an issue on Steam's part.
