If you want to use 5.2 then set MODLUA_VERSION = 5.2 The setup with FLAVORS is for lua libraries, not for typical standalone software. Not sure what the SUBST_VARS+=FLAVOR and mention in README is for, afaict this port has never supported multiple flavours.
