Qual o mais acessivel para quem está a dar os primeiros paços?jquery ou mapquery?

PS: O livro Openlayers begginers 2.1 vem a caminho. Já tenho em PDF mas prefiro em versão papel :-)

Quanto aos mouse events, eu pessoalmente detesto fazer programacao de events em javascript puro, normalmente tento usar jQuery:

Talvez seja melhor usar MapQuery ???

Ou melhor ainda usar este plugin que permite programar event/trigger seguindo a filosofia de signal/slots to Qt/C++
