Hi yall,
I believe the movie Mike Woods mentioned is "Hail, Hail, Rock & Roll". I
saw it a few months ago on cable. There is a very interesting segment with
Bo Diddley & Little Richard explaining how Johnnie was an established blues
club band leader in East St. Louis, I believe, when a young Chuck Berry
came upon the scene. They got together & basically re-worked some of
Johnnie's tunes written in a "piano key" to a "guitar key", so Berry could
play them. The result was the beginning of Berry's rock n' roll career. A
pretty good lil' flick. I too enjoyed the Muddy Waters tribute, excellent,
& no commercials! Buddy Guy was delightful!
