Congratulations Elena. Quite an honor to open a show with Picky Ricky.
You've sure got a sound that should make old Ricky stick his head in the
door and wonder what kind of bluegrass reconstruction is reigning down on
the ears of the faithful. Reminds me of the time Sammy Shelor of the
Lonesome River Band whipped out a Stratocaster at the Mineral Bluegrass
Festival and you could have heard a pin drop. He then proceeded to play an
amazing solo on Hobo Blues to which he got a huge round of applause. I was
emceeing that show and knew it was coming so it was quite fun to watch the
whole episode unfold. Just shows that given a chance, even the most diehard
BG fans will have an open mind, and Mineral BG fest's middle name is die
hard.
