I had the marketing director of the Michigan Speedway (formally the Michigan
International Speedway - MIS) in lovely Brooklyn, MI once tell me that a big
difference between NASCAR and CART races are that NASCAR fans are there to see
the race, while CART fans are there to be seen...
Of course, my loyalty has always been on the CART side of the track, largely
due to the fact that a friend of mine used to own the team sponsored by
Dominos which boasted such drivers as Al Unser, Jr., Danny Sullivan, Raul
Boeshel, and Ari Lyendyke (their only Indy 500 winner).
