Re reading the list, I've concluded that you people will complain about
anything. This is an amazingly diverse list of acts, especially
considerring its compiled by a major newspaper rock critic. There's
nothing on the list that I would scoff at, and he's got some more obscure
stuff there, and you accuse him of snobbiness. Also, alot of the
non-country stuff on Kot's list gets discussed here (Sleater Kinney, Yo
La Tengo, Lauren (how to you spell it?) Hill) which I think tips things
in Kots favor.
Sheesh, compare this list to the last 10 Grammies or MTV awards. Which I
would look up if it was easy but the Grammies site doesnt have em in an
obvious place.
Oh, and after my Liz Phair post, I thought of about 20 other female 90s
rock acts. (Hole, Breeders, PJ Harvey...) But Liz was the girl rock
poster girl for a while there. And she's from Chicago. <g>
