Robbie is such a dude. My sister and I got an email out of the blue from some
guy saying "thanks for the plug, Robbie Fulks."
We thought (naturally) nah, that can't be the *real* Robbie Fulks, but we'll
write back anyway for a laugh. Of course it was the real Robbie (my sis had
posted something on the internet saying how much she loved South Mouth), so we
carried on with a really cool email conversation over about a month, and did a
CD swap - his 'Let's Kill Saturday Night' for our 'Lonesome Vistas' (and he
said nice things about our album too!)
So, yes, I <heart> Robbie Fulks too.
There are some really good audio clips on www.robbiefulks.com recorded from
live radio shows he's done recently which are well worth checking out.
I've also done a CD swap with Michael Clute, Nashville producer for Diamond Rio
(I got a signed copy of their 'Unbelievable'). He didn't didn't give a response
to our CD tho, so I guess he didn't like it :-(
Anyone else done any CD swaps with cool people?
