although I don't remember anyone blaming UT *or* their fans for
anything. FWIW, I placed all my blame on writers who can't seem
to do anything but regurgitate press releases, and I thought Terry,
etc., were also blaming the hype machine, and no one else. I
guess I would blame fans who would argue -- even after
reading/learning otherwise -- that UT started roots
rock/alt.country/whatever. But I couldn't possibly blame those who
haven't had the time or inclination to dig deeper for not knowing
better.
Dave, who only started to discover Hank/Cash/Etc. after digging
Jason & the Scorchers, Dwight Yoakam, and Steve Earle in the
mid-80s....
