In the last couple weeks I've had the opportunity to see--twice--a great Twin Cities band called the Cultivators. Cool P2 connections: (a) My lead guitarist used to play bass for 'em, and (b) they're label-mates with our beloved One Riot One Ranger. They're roots-rock or twangy pop, or something along those lines. Fairly mainstream stuff, nothing earthshaking, but solid songs and stunning arrangements with an insanely good rhythm section. Their frontman, Dan Israel, gave me a gratis copy of their brand new CD entitled "Mama's Kitchen", and it's just as great as their live show is. I have been instructed to inform you that if any of the DJs or music reviewers among us would like a free copy of the CD, you should contact Dan at [EMAIL PROTECTED] . It wouldn't fit too well on some of your ultra-hard-twangin' programs, but if any of you are open to "milder" amounts of twang, you will likely love the tunes and play 'em a lot. Even my sometimes-reticent husband commented as I just ran down and grabbed the jewel case for reference, "Hey, I really like that CD." xx, Jamie S.
