No, they play on almost every record that comes out of Nashville (do I need
to explain the distinction between "responsible for" and "play on"?), and a
good many others, besides - that is, taking your reference to Nashville to
be one to "Nashvegas," and not to records such as The Mountain, Ancient
Tones, The Family, etc. Check out Franklin's credits on the All-Music
Guide, to take the most prolific of them; he's recorded with everyone from
Shania Twain to Iris DeMent. I've probably got a hundred or so albums that
he makes an appearance on, and his work ranges from great to brilliant; same
goes for Mason. Stuart Duncan is, of course, one of the premiere fiddle
players in bluegrass, or maybe you didn't know that.
