For those wishing to know: a translation (c1804) of Grellmann's important work on the origin of the Gypsies. Grellmann's conclusion (now accepted as correct) was that the Gypsies were a people from northern Indian, but perhaps his more important point was that he insisted on proper method in such matters, not wild speculation on one piece of evidence. The book contains an extensive list of Romany words with equivalents etc.
