For those wishing to know: a novel some parts of which are semi-autobiographical. Pretor is really a sketch and descriptive writer so there are a few chapters which are really nothing to do with the novel, but very nice sketches in their way. It's interesting that some of the names here relate to those in "Ronald and I".
