For those wishing to know: Rev. Vaughan, head master of Harrow, in 1852 got involved in the debates as to whether the Crystal Palace could be opened on a Sunday for the benefit of the working classes etc. Vaughan argued for a more humanitarian approach, as he did in the Post Office Aggitation pamphlets.
