For those wishing to know: Slater was one of a group of scholars who were suggesting that the traditional English translation of the Bible, the King James, needed an update. This is a scholarly pamphlet (1856) suggesting principles that would need to be considered. It also contains a lot of parrallel passages contrasting the KJV against what he thought would be a better translation.

All the best,
David,
Cold and damp England
