If you upgrade to this, then add some messages to UTF8 addresses, then downgrade, then... well, it won't quite work, but it won't quiet break either. The UTF8 mail won't be delivered (the old version doesn't know how to), but postfix also won't crash. At the end of the queue lifetime there'll be a DSN.
