Ok, mein Vorschlag starte mit IMAPd.
Da wird alles in der imapd.conf eingetragen.

sasl_pwcheck_method: <none>
The mechanism used by the server to verify plaintext passwords.
Possible values include “auxprop”, “saslauthd”, and “pwcheck”.
Default: auxprop
auxprop_plugin [<list of plugin names>]
Name of auxiliary plugin to use, you may specify a space-separated
list of plugin names, and the plugins will be queried in order.
Default: empty - queries all plugins.
So sollen die Userdaten liegen, in sasldb?
