Spamassassin cron job Meldung aus sa-update : No such file or directory

Seit einigen Tagen bekomme ich (Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS) von 
/etc/cron.daily/spamassassin eine ziemlich lange Meldung, die damit beginnt:

Cannot open file 
/var/lib/spamassassin/3.004002/updates_spamassassin_org/1881923.tar.gz: No such 
file or directory at /usr/bin/sa-update line 1599.


Zeile 1599 ist letzte Zeile folgenden Snippets aus sa-update:

  my ($file_name, $binary_mode) = @_;
  my $content;

  my $file = IO::File->new;


Jemand eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte? Eine Attacke, exploit?
