Hi chaps, Just trying to get a proper understanding of what postfix will do when it's not top of the MX chain, as well as how an MX list should process mail.
So you have transport_maps pointing at a file and in this file something like the following: example.com : example2.com : In this instance I assume that, as no gateway has been defined, it does a DNS lookup for those domains? Does it try to deliver to servers in order or MX record, or will it see itself in the chain and only try to delivery to the primary MX server? Should other MX servers delivery internally or only the top MX server? Finally, if you want the server to deliver mail out as well as in, do you need to define a line for this, say: * : ?
