This means that GLIBC (or whatever your equivalent is) has problems
not POSTFIX.

The suspected sequence of events is as follows:

1 - Client connects

2 - Postfix asks GLIBC to look up the hostname and IP address,
    GLIBC asks nsswitch, nsswitch talks whatever local infrastucture.

Step 2 takes too much ime. 
** Maybe the chroot resolv.conf is not good?***

3 - Client times out

4 - Postfix logs connect from unknown[whatever]

5 - Postfix immediately logs disconnect
