Hello, I have a question regarding Postfix delivery behavior.
Is there any supported way to configure Postfix so that when an SMTP delivery to a remote MX fails with a permanent 5xx response, the message can be automatically retried through an alternative SMTP relay instead of being bounced immediately? For example: 1. Postfix attempts direct delivery to the recipient MX. 2. The remote server returns something like: 550 5.7.1 Service unavailable; client [IP] blocked using .... 3. Instead of immediately generating a bounce, Postfix should attempt delivery of the same message through a configured fallback relay. 4. If the fallback relay also fails, the normal bounce behavior should apply. The fallback should be triggered by the SMTP response, not by a manually maintained list of recipient domains. Is there a native Postfix mechanism for this, perhaps using transports, smtp delivery parameters, or some queue manager feature that I'm missing? Thanks! -- Best regards, Ihor Rusyn
