Telling people, member of an affirmed community, that what they are currently doing is idiotic, is absolutely not an intelligent way of trying to convince them of your arguments. On the technical merit, Python is a very well established programming language where indentation (spaces) is used to delimit code blocks, and thus is very significant. >From the perception point of view, trailing spaces can be hard to spot, however leading spaces can absolutely by seen easily by everyone.
