i recently tested free logging and monitoring solutions on ubuntu lucid lts about mail stuff, which does not mean my meaning may fit global, so no flame on a typical mailsystem ( pop/imap/smtp/spam/clam ) the most info you can get is Logwatch ( no Graph ) it has good log parsers prepared in the newest release for all common free mail software combined with other solutions like mailgraph, pflogsumm, xymon, nagios etc you get a working solution log analyse ,monitoring, alarming solution i found no tool that fits all, what i like to see in such a solution, in a whole. you may have a look at http://sourceforge.net/p/partylog2/home/Home/ which is an vm iso to graylog2 http://graylog2.org/ this looks very nice for big log analysing, its extreme fast, and at my small knowledge it should be able to get hacked to a base of an uni alarming and log analyse system for real big mail systems -- Best Regards MfG Robert Schetterer Germany/Munich/Bavaria
