I quote:

Addresses in virtual alias domains are undeliverable unless
aliased to a real domain. Transport overrides can't help.
Either the domain should not be a virtual alias domain, or you
need to rewrite the address to a real domain before adding
transport overrides (for the rewritten address).

by "real domain" I mean a domain that is NOT a virtual alias domain.
By "the domain should not be a virtual alias domain" I mean not
listed in "virtual_alias_domains". Choose either or both of the
options:

    1. Don't add example.com (your domain) to virtual_alias_domains.

    2. Rewrite the address in question to some address in a domain
which is not a virtual alias domain. That address can be
routed to a suitable transport via transport_maps.
