That was the lesser of the two alternatives.
Ideally, you would take the hint and actually post configuration
information (postconf -n) and a description of your system environment
(kernel, virtualization stack if any, ...), without wild guesses
about what Postfix is doing on your system.
Then this thread might yet have some positive outcome.
