Those two sound suspiciously similar to me.
But OK. The password is fine with the vpn off, but the password is bad
with the vpn on. I wonder why this only happens with postfix, but I'll
find out somewhere else.
Your problem is while submitting an e-mail, from your client (MUA) to your
server (acting as MSA, port 465/587).
This is unrelated to the other problem (Dan Ziolkowski's), which is a MTA-to-MTA
problem (probably a DNS misconfiguration).
So you should really make another thread for this.
