Given that you also have distribution-ow...@myhost.com as an alias, is there an
easy way of making it a "closed" list, such that only the list-members can write
to it?
I am thinking of the committee of a small club (ten addresses at most).

Hello Wietse,

With Postfix aliases(5), if mail is sent to an alias 'foo', and

there also is an alias 'owner-foo', then the enveloope sender

will be set to owner-foo. This behavior already existed in
Sendmail.
That sounds like you've found the solution for my problem... My
distribution list is *very* static. Only every few years something
changes.
So I have to add the members of the distribution list to the
aliases? Say, if my distribution looked like this (virtual_alias):
distribut...@myhost.com a...@a.com, b...@b.com
What would I have to add to /etc/aliases?
Thank you for the pointer to aliases(5)!
