You probably built PostGIS before upgrading to GEOS-3.4.2, so the code in PostGIS could _not_ include functions not available in GEOS at that time. Rebuild postgis and you should be fine. Feel free to file a ticket to request a more complete error message showing the version of GEOS PostGIS was _built_ against.
