on solaris 10 (x86)

Hi Kedar, the following are the steps that I use:

wget http://download.osgeo.org/postgis/source/postgis-2.1.2.tar.gz
tar xvfz postgis-2.1.2.tar.gz
cd postgis-2.1.2
gpatch -p1 < ../postgis-2.1.2-use-finite-instead-of-isfinite-for-solaris.patch

Hope that helps!
