So maybe you could try upgrading your 2.1.1 on the server to 2.1.8,
which was released on July 2015. Reading the NEWS file I find, in
the 2.1.2 section:
- #2615, EstimatedExtent (and hence, underlying stats) gathering
wrong bbox
