we also use QGIS for viewing and editing PostGIS data. QGIS 9.2 (will be published in the next couple days) has improved editing functionality (better snapping, topological editing for adjacent polygons, splitting of features, etc.)

We use QGIS in our local city government (city of Uster in the Kanton of Zurich) and will also financially support further development of QGIS along with some other local governments in Switzerland. The usage of QGIS is so easy that even a farmer with no GIS knowledge at all could use it after half an hour of introduction.

QGIS is my preferred viewer as well. I find QGIS does the best job of
overlaying my existing shapefile/raster data with the postgis data. And
it's a pretty good postgis editor as well.

Subject: Re: [postgis-users] Best graphical viewer for PostGIS data

Despite the preference expressed here for OpenJump, which does work
well,
I
have found alternatives like GVSIG & QGIS to be easier to install &
run,
and
there is also uDIG from the PostGIS developers.

FWIW, OGIS is my preferred PostGIS viewre.

Cheers,
