For the sake of completeness: BOX2DFLOAT is also an internal type that should *never* be exposed to the user. ST_Envelope() has been fixed in SVN trunk.

But again: Is there a non aggregate function which returns the exact extent 
(float8s) of a geometry? If not, why not?
