FWIW, I'd advocate for an aggregator rather than a multi-author blog. Something like planet.postgresql.org. That way authors could easily have their posts crossposted to multiple places (e.g. both a "planet postgis" and "planet postgresql" and their own corporate site and whatever else they might want) without having to post more than once...
