Thanks to everyone who helped me resolve my issues! After you helped me fix Pound, I found someone had (not so suprisingly) changed something on the firewall, which caused the later timeout.
Now the site is live, email is happy, and we can soon launch our apps. Please excuse my rough education on mailing lists and Pound.
