I don't (nor do I remember seeing it on the list before); however, your thought that Pound will hand the cert to the browser and the browser will deal with it is pretty much correct. I would guess that it would work fine.
You can test it yourself, just use openssl to create a certificate with the appropriate attributes, hand it to pound and test it out.
