ah I checked svstat (didn't think of since it was working) and it was stuck at 1 second, I had one process from yesterday which tipped me off it didn't restart correctly, killed that, I'm back in business.

Just switched from an older pound config w/o daemontools so still learning!

thanks
brian

Are you sure pound is actually starting? (svstat on the service directory)

If not you may need to sh run directly and see if any errors are being thrown.

Subject: [Pound Mailing List] poundctl socket can't connect?

wehn I try to run poundctl I am getting this error now

# poundctl -c /var/run/poundctl.socket
connect: Connection refused

I am running pound under djb's daemoncontrol and issued a kill signal
to restart the service and now the pipe doesn't work.
I tried deleting it and it reappears but it's still giving connection
refused.

srwx------ 1 root root 0 Oct 19 10:45 /var/run/poundctl.socket
-rw------- 1 root root 6 Oct 18 13:38 /var/run/pound.pid

the pid file hasn't updated either hm. and that pid doesn't exist.

any ideas?

brian
