If you've built and installed OpenSSL you just need to send the configure
statement the path OpenSSL was installed to.

./configure -help says:
" --with-ssl=directory location of OpenSSL package"

Thanks for this.

At the configure stage, I'm getting an error

Missing OpenSSL (-lcrypto) - aborted

I've built and installed OpenSSL 1.0.0e.

Any suggestions?

Regards

It's just configure / make / make install. More details on the pound
website under 'INSTALLATION':
