ok i have made the changes you have said, so the way i had it aslong as it has the word filter anything else can be added to it prior and it would accept it...? that is not what i want

so i have made it look like this

HeadRequire "^Host:[ \t]*filter\.compumedik\.com$"
        BackEnd

and hopefully only filter.compumedik.com will be there

"Need" ... no. But your regexp is a bit loose, you probably want to adjust it since as written, it would match a hostname of "thisisadumbfilter.compumedik.com". This is probably want you want:

HeadRequire "^Host:[ \t]*filter\.compumedik\.com$"
